There are a number of different companies offering car hire in Menorca and as its such as easy island to get around its a very popular choice. As an example getting from Mahon to Ciutadella is very easy as Menorcas main road (ME-1) runs directly between the two towns, passing through the towns of Alaior, Es Mercadal and Ferreries, and along the way smaller roads branch off towards the beaches and resorts of the north and south coasts. Driving is much the same as the UK other than the fact that they drive on the left. Most of the road signs are the same as other European countries When driving a hire car you must always carry the hire document, your current driving licence and passport. Carrying these documents is important. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age and have held a full licence for at least 3 years. Seat belts are compulsory in the front and back of the vehicle, On the spot fines are imposed. Children up to the age of 12 must be seated in the rear of a vehicle. The number of seat belts in the car denotes the number of people that the car is allowed to legally carry. Don't drink and drive, or drive whilst under the influence of any drugs, as not only with the insurance company cancel the cover if you are involved in an accident which is caused by either, but The Guardia Civil will use a breathalyser and arrest you.

atmosphere than its larger neighbour, Majorca, Menorca is a fantastic destination for relaxation and is also a great place for families.
